S.I.C.K.
Sore throat.
Stuffy head.
Horrible coughs.
H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E.
Chills.
Fever again.
Crazy sleep patterns.
Up every hour.
Full on awake from 4:30-6:30.
Amazing husband.
A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.
Fed the kids the best meals they have seen
all week
while I moaned and groaned from the bed.
So blessed
to have the most incredible friend and sub
who will walk in tomorrow and run the show just as I would.

Perfect friend that will let my kids ride the bus to her house
so that in my dizzy state I don't have to drive
praying to feel better tomorrow
house looks like a bomb went off
And you know I am
S.I.C.K.
because I close my eyes while I walk past
And pretend that it isn't mine.
There is plenty of time for that.
For now
time for medicine
and sub plans
and ice water
and maybe another cough drop
Hoping beyond hope
to sleep the whole night through.
Just as soon as I send these sub plans off.
