A girl after my own heart

Presents were wrapped early and often this year. My Princess in Training takes after her momma. She could be found searching the tree for new treasures each morning and delighting in any new present that had been wrapped for her. It made me giggle each time I saw her body engulfed by the tree, bottom in the air sorting through the loot. Silly girl!

Mom's Day Off

As a special gift to our favorite friends (The Hussmans, Bookmillers, Santa Marias, Wilsons, and Millers) this Christmas we offered a mom's day off! The parents got to drop their kiddos off for 5 hours of fun! We made a santa craft, played games, climbed in the castle, made a few ornaments, ate some pizza, watched a movie, decorated cookies, and played in the park. PHEW! Now I need a day off! In all honesty, the kids were great and it was so much fun! The parents couldn't believe their good fortune to have 5 hours of free time 1 week before Christmas. This, too, will likely become an annual tradition in the Vaterlaus home! BTW-This is only a smattering of the 80 pictures we took of our fun! With kids this cute you just have to take lots of pictures!

What to do...

It's 7:15 and the kids are still asleep. I am contemplating a shower but wonder if I can pull it off fast enough...hmmm

YIPEE!

Today I am eternally grateful to Amazon's amazing next day shipping and the fantastic UPS man that had the gift at my door roughly 18 hours after the order was placed! Even better, the next day shipping was only about $6 more than I would have paid for tax had I bought the item in town as I had planned. Christmas is going to be beautiful.

Presents under the tree

With Ben off to the Dual in the Desert I was left at home to hold down the fort. He claims that I gave him permission last night when he woke me up...but as I have no recollection of this, I am pleading the 5th. Either way I took the opportunity to serve an oh-so-healthy dinner of pizza and juice, throw on a couple of Christmas movies compliments of Netflix, and sneak away to start wrapping up a storm. As I was setting up I realized that there are no labels to be found throughout the house. So...each kiddo picked out their favorite paper and I went with it. Now there are 4 matching presents under the tree for each kiddo. A good start for only the 2nd day of December. Here's hoping that Sugar and Spice leaves them alone when he gets up for his nightly invasion of my bed.
