My Classroom in December

I am sure that we did more than this. A few pictures are missing. Gingerbread graph and reading record. Also, no pictures of our Polar Express Party as I was hobbling around and forgot my camera. The pictures also don't do justice to the amount of candy cane border that I used to adorn every corner of the classroom from bookshelves to my desk. Nor the tinsel that hung from every easel or the ornaments strung from the white board. It is safe to say I love December in Kindergarten! January has much in store from penguins, polar bears, and Eskimos to Martin Luther King Jr and the 100th day of School!
I am so glad to have a student teacher along for the ride!

One of my Favorite People!

Grandpa Tinsley is high on my list of favorite people. Something about him reminds me so much of my own grandpa. I love when he comes to visit and was so glad to have enjoyed a delicious dinner with him (and others!) on the night before Thanksgiving. I love this picture of My Little Reader with her Great-Grandpa! And hope that we have many more Thanksgivings together in the future!

To believe it!

We signed the papers!

At long last we signed the papers yesterday for our house!

We will get the keys next week.
Which will give us 15 days until Christmas to put it altogether.
I have a feeling that we are going to be very busy little elves!

Free, Free, Free!

This week as noted in the previous post, we made the biggest purchase of our lives.
So, I thought I would show you all the fun, free things we did this week.
Still on the free agenda...Lighted School House showing of the Polar Express with our friends Dave and Bella, Temple lights in Mesa on the 19th, and a drive through night at Winterhaven!

I love free food!

Reid Park Zoo Lights! We never went in Phoenix because it was too expensive.
I was thrilled to find out that our Membership allowed for a free night of Zoo Lights!
It was funny to see all the Tucsonans bundled up in snow coats, hats, gloves, and scarfs. The temp was maybe 60!

Free concert with the group Parachute! Can you believe how close we were? My Little Reader loves their song and was completely star struck!

Free snow...in Tucson! My Princess in Training was not at all amused.

Free playtime at our favorite local toy store.

Free hot chocolate!

A definitely NOT free cupcake ($3.50 each!!). However, it was DELICIOUS. I know because when a piece dropped to the ground My Princess in Training snatched it up and popped it in her mouth before I could stop her!

Yes, it was that good!

All Aboard! The Polar Express!

Thanks Moma and Opa for a great trip!

Our Thanksgiving Performance and Feast!
My parents were AMAZING! They provide all the side dishes.
When the kids went out to play they returned my classroom to complete order.
You would never have known that 55 people had eaten lunch there!
